Being Spirit-Led

Matthew 4:1-4 (NLT)

(1) Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil.

(2) For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry.

(3) During that time the devil came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.”

(4) But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’

Satan and his agents will talk a lot of things into your ears; “hate this person”, “tell this lie”, “gossip about that minister or sister”, “life is not worth living”, “speak this negative word over your life”, and so on – but we must listen to the Holy Spirit and God’s Word.

God’s Word says, that He loves us, died for us, desires to talk with us, commune with us, and that He only wants the best for us.

He’s a good God.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for the Holy Spirit that guides me into all truth. I cover my ears and anoint my tongue with the blood of Jesus, so the enemy will not have any legal hold on my destiny. I will NOT give Satan any authority by listening to him and his lies. I choose to follow your lead and listen to your instructions. Amen.
